Build Your Own Blackjack Table

Build Your Own Blackjack Table

Building a blackjack table is not difficult at all! You should be able to get the whole project done in a couple of hours especially if you have someone helping you. All you need to get started are some materials like wood, foam and vinyl which are easily available. Let’s take a look at the following steps that will help you build your blackjack table!

Materials Needed

  • 6’ Blackjack Table Foam Padding
  • Wood Glue
  • 14’ Blackjack Table Armrest Foam
  • Pair of Folding Blackjack Table Legs
  • 1 – Box of 1 1/4” sheetrock screws
  • 7’ Blackjack Table Armrest Vinyl
  • Spray Adhesive
  • Black Paint
  • 2 – Plywood 4’ x 8’ x 3/4”
  • Blackjack Felt Layout
  • Optional – Bill Slot, Dealer Chip Tray, Money Box, Money paddle and Discard Tray.

Tools Needed

  • Staple Gun and 1/4” Staples
  • 1/8” Countersink drill bit
  • Utility Knife
  • Sharpie Pen
  • Drill
  • Paint Brush
  • Jig Saw
  • Clamps

Step One: Draw Blackjack Table Plans

Draw the rail on one of the sheets of plywood and draw the table on another sheet. Make a line halfway across both sheets of plywood. Measure 3” from the side along the centre line. Draw three arc lines first before drawing the rest of the table and rails.

Step Two – Cut out table pieces and assembly rail

Use a jigsaw to cut out both of the rail pieces as well as the table. Make 9 holes in the bottom of the rail. Attach the two rails by using 1 ¼” screws.

Step Three – Cut out holes for Money Slot

This step is optional. Cut out the holes if you are going to use a chip tray or money box. Measure its dimensions. Add a ½” to both dimensions.

Step Four – Paint

Use flat black paint to paint the bottom of the table.

Step Five – Table Legs

Fasten the foldable blackjack table legs to the table. Measure out 28” from the centre of the blackjack table.

Step Six – Table Foam

Add a piece of 6’ table foam with the spray glue. Spray the table surface well. Cut out chip tray and money slot holes. You can opt to apply a 2nd piece of foam.

Step Seven – Blackjack Felt

Add the blackjack felt layout to the table. It’s best to start at the centre and staple. Focus on the other side and staple. Staple the end of the table. Next, head to the other end and staple. Continue until you have staples about every 4-6” all the way around. Cut down 2 slits from corner to corner in the chip tray hole.

Step Eight – Rail Foam

Make use of the spray glue to fix the foam to the outside edge of the rail. Spray on the top and inside edge of the rail. Trim off the excess with a knife.

Step Nine – Rail Vinyl

Put the rail top side down onto the vinyl. Staple the vinyl to the centre of the rail. Follow by pulling it tight and staple the inside edge of the rail in place. Start in the middle and complete one side of the rail and then the other. Cut slits in the vinyl so the inside of the rail will not be difficult to pull the vinyl to the rail. Take your time to get the vinyl tight and smooth.

Step Ten – Finish the Job

The rail can either sit on top of the table or be installed with screws from underneath. Install the money box, chip tray, money paddle, discard tray and bill slot. You will also need playing cards and a Blackjack shoe.
